Fionn is passionate about giving students the skills required to thrive in any academic environment. By breaking down subjects into their simpler components, Fionn helps ‘build up’ students in a way that gives them a foundation from which to develop their own personal ‘voice’.
By establishing an amicable relationship with the student, Fionn makes sure that every lesson is enjoyable, yet at the same time focusing on developing the skills and knowledge base required to succeed.
He prepares personalised lessons that ensure the student is confident for any upcoming assessment tasks. More than anything, he is passionate about helping students perform to their best possible level
Fionn grew up in the country town of Bowral. After skipping Grade Four to expand his academic horizons, in 2012 his parents took him out of school and spent an entire year travelling around Australia. During this time, he was homeschooled, as well as being educated culturally in ways well beyond the syllabus.
From Year 7, he was awarded an academic scholarship to attend Cranbrook School as a boarder. He flourished in all aspects of school life, being awarded the leadership roles of Head of House, Head of English, Outward Bound Mentor and Captain of Cricket. He was also a member of the 1st III Debating and 1st IV Chess.
After completing Mathematics and Mathematics Extension One in Year 11, Fionn studied largely the humanities in Year 12. Fionn is studying a double degree of Laws combined with Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the Australian National University in Canberra, living on Campus at John XXIII College.
