Hannah aims to create a personalised approach for each of her students in order to establish the best needs for each students learning style. She works with her students to establish their strengths and weaknesses to create a personalised learning plan. She likes to prepare material before each lesson which is guided by her students each week. For Hannah, with teaching modern languages it is important to focus on all key skills; reading, writing, listening and speaking whilst working on grammar and vocabulary as well as developing a passion for the Spanish Speaking World. Furthermore, Hannah is passionate about encouraging her students to practice their language little and often in order to master the skill.
Hannah grew up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, attending Wenona School from 7-12. Before the end of Year 11 Hannah had also attained a B1 level in Spanish. It was at Wenona where she developed a great passion for Spanish and a great interest in Latin America. Hence, Hannah has chosen to pursue her passion for modern languages on a tertiary level. As a result of her hard work and HSC results she was accepted into her top preference for university. She studies Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Edinburgh, one of the world’s best universities for the study of modern languages. She hopes to one day live and work in Latin America.
After graduating from Wenona in 2021 and before starting university in September 2022, Hannah spent 6 months travelling in Europe specifically in Spain and Portugal where she was able to practice and better her language skills alongside furthering her knowledge surrounding the history and culture of these countries. In addition to tutoring and studying at the University of Edinburgh, Hannah enjoys travelling, reading both fiction and non-fiction in Spanish and Portuguese as well as English and listening to podcasts.
