Approach to Tutoring:

Alexandra is passionate about cultivating confidence through a personalised approach designed for each of her students, especially in the humanities where she has achieved the highest marks in the state. She is devoted to the individual needs of her students and provides thorough feedback to help them reach their full potential. Alexandra aims to motivate students to engage deeply with their academic work, and in doing so, maximise their understanding and ability to think critically.

Drawing from her own success in English, Alexandra strives to teach students in a manner that first enhances their understanding as the crucial first step to any sustained level of success in English. She believes academic excellence in English relies not on natural ability but on motivation and a willingness to challenge oneself. This overarching mantra guides her supportive and effective approach to teaching.

Alexandra's love and interest in English transcend across all texts in the curriculum. She has refined her skill in teaching students how to write originally to new exam questions, rather than relying on memorised pre-prepared essays, this being the only pathway to getting a result above 90.

Biography:

Alexandra grew up in Maitland, New South Wales, attending Hunter Valley Grammar School from year seven through to year twelve. In addition to tutoring, Alexandra volunteers in a local community kitchen and enjoys playing netball, travelling and reading.
