Isla is passionate about using a tailored and niche approach to each individual student, in order to maximise both academic performance and mental wellbeing. Isla’s personal experience has anchored her devotion to maintaining a level of confidence in one’s academic skill, a state only achieved via maximising strengths and minimising weaknesses. Through her intense preparation with students, Isla ensures they are able to progress in their results whilst cementing an appreciation for the subjects themselves - something that is key for long-term improvement and motivation. Isla works with students in a highly organised and focused manner, ensuring efficacy and productivity through regular feedback and commitment to their goals. Overarchingly, through acting as both a mentor and a support person, Isla leads her students to success.
Isla grew up in Bondi, Sydney, attending St Charles Primary School from Kindergarten to Year 4. She then moved to St Catherine’s School Waverley, which she graduated from in Year 12 being the highest ATAR achiever at her school.
Focusing on her interest in both mathematics and humanities, Isla decided to complete a Bachelor of Commerce followed by the Jurisdoctor at The University of Melbourne - moving interstate to experience college life and explore a new place. In addition to tutoring, Isla participates in multiple dance classes per week, and is involved in various sporting and dancing opportunities available through Queens College at The University of Melbourne. She loves to see her friends and family, read, travel, and rewatch nostalgic Disney movies from time to time!
