Adam is genuinely passionate about providing meaningful support to a student to help them do their very best. Working closely alongside every student, Adam personalises his approach to establish their strengths and concerns, as well as their personal goals. Adam then tailors each lesson to improve these strengths and minimise concerns whilst working steadily towards the student's defined goals.
Adam prepares carefully for each lesson and aims to clarify the student's understanding of the essentials while extending their knowledge far beyond the basics. In doing so, Adam creates an informal yet hardworking environment.
Of paramount importance to Adam is his students' enjoyment of their subject, as he believes this is key to success. To ensure this, Adam fosters critical thinking and encourages students to engage deeply.
Adam also imparts the importance of rigorous organisational skills to his students, something that he believes is essential to effective work. Thus, he works to minimise the stress and maximise the enjoyment of schoolwork.
Adam lived the first eight years of his life in Cape Town, South Africa before moving to Sydney with his family. He attended his local primary school in St Ives, and moved to Sydney Grammar School at the beginning of Year 7. He loved his time at school and engaged deeply in varied disciplines, developing numerous interests, including a passion for literature, art (especially painting and photography), the life sciences, languages, music, and sport. Adam is continuing to study a wide range of subjects at university, with the aim of further developing his interests, alongside finding new ones.
