Mackenzie is one of the most experienced and distinguished Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry tutors at Premier Tutors. In his fifth year working at the company, Mackenzie has amassed significant experience developing high-achieving students across a range of subjects. His ability to assess and adapt the tutoring session to the needs of the student is a particular strength along with his clear explanations of subject matter.
Having successfully completed his HSC in 2016 with outstanding results, Mackenzie is an experienced high school tutor particularly for those studying for HSC and Olympiad exams. Mackenzie graduated from Sydney Grammar School with an ATAR of 99.90, achieving full marks in Mathematics Ext. 1.
In 2020, Mackenzie won the University medal, placing $1^\text{st}$ in the School of Physics for a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at The University of Sydney. He is currently completing his PhD in Quantum Physics.

Mackenzie's approach to tutoring is flexible and tailored to the specific needs of each student. He believes in both developing a passion and skill in the subject, as well as preparing students for the challenging pressures that examinations and assessments provide. Lessons with Mackenzie are designed collaboratively between Mackenzie and the student. Mackenzie's experience and insight into the subject allow him to accurately evaluate the student's strengths and weaknesses, and he adapts the structure and style of his lessons to match these strengths and weaknesses. Furthermore, he always listens to the students and gives them flexibility in what they would like to achieve through their tutoring, and designs goals according to the student's aims.
Mackenzie balances developing a strong foundation in the subject with practical advice for maximising his students' performance in formal assessments. He draws from his passion for science and maths to make lessons highly engaging and interesting, while also utilising his strong academic results at school and at University to give students strategic advice on how to improve their study and exam techniques. These together allow his students to enjoy their studies as much as possible, while also boosting their marks and results at school.
Mackenzie was born in Sydney and grew up in Mosman. He attended Mosman Preparatory School from Kindergarten to Year 4, before moving to Sydney Grammar School where he stayed from Year 5 to Year 12. After completing a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at the University of Sydney, majoring in Physics and Chemistry and winning the University Medal, Mackenzie has commenced his PhD within the Sydney University Quantum Theory Group.
When Mackenzie is not tutoring or studying at University, his main passion is choral singing. Currently, Mackenzie is a Tenor in the Sydney University Musical Society and the Sydney Chamber Choir, conducts the Sydney University Musical Society Small Group, and composes choral music. Mackenzie plays the piano and played the oboe in the School Orchestra. He enjoys playing sport with my friends, particularly ultimate frisbee and skiing, and follows a number of sports teams, including the Waratahs (Rugby Union), 6ers (Cricket), Swans (AFL) and Green Bay Packers (NFL).
