Joshua believes that the key to academic success lies in a deep comprehension of the foundations of a subject. His approach emphasises relating new knowledge to previously taught concepts, strengthening his student's understanding. He finds this enables his students to think critically when faced with even the trickiest problems. Joshua adopts a collaborative approach with his students, working to uniquely tailor his lessons and explanations to each individual learning style. An essential aspect of Joshua's style is his ability to serve as a guide for his students to think independently, giving them the opportunity to reach conclusions on their own. This way, his students find themselves empowered with the confidence to think analytically across all aspects of life. He endeavours to build a friendly and encouraging relationship with his students, fostering a supportive environment to ask questions and improve their learning. Further, Joshua helps set regular goals that enable students to strive for the highest level of achievement.
Joshua grew up in West Pymble, Sydney, attending Gordon West Public School through until Year 6 before attending Barker College from Year 7 until Year 12. It was during his time at Barker where Joshua developed his passion for mathematics and problem-solving. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Sydney, where he continues to develop his critical thinking and analytical skills and pursue his deep interest in STEM.
