Approach to Tutoring:

Josh promotes a meticulous, honest and efficient learning environment, enabling his students to meet and exceed their academic goals in a manner tailored to their unique needs. He works closely with his students to identify areas for improvement early on, aspiring to elucidate and resolve persistently misunderstood concepts and areas of the syllabus.

Josh inspires his students to think deeply about the most simple of concepts, exposing them to the nuances of their study and thereby sowing a real passion for their subjects. He provides regular and direct feedback both within and outside of lessons, with a view to developing his students into more confident problem solvers and scholars.

Josh prioritises realistic planning and organisation, and will work alongside his students to set goals and strive for improvement. Working ahead of their school curriculum, Josh’s students will be well equipped to master their subjects.

Biography:

Josh grew up in Rose Bay, Sydney, and attended Cranbrook School on an Academic Scholarship, graduating as Dux of the school in 2021. A prefect and house captain, Josh immersed himself in extra-curricular life, being involved in debating, rowing, orchestra, robotics and philosophy.

Outside of tutoring, Josh debates and enjoys playing violin. He is currently nearing completion of his Gold Duke of Edinburgh award.

Testimonials:

Joshua has been tutoring our son for 2 years and has provided excellent support. Our son enjoys the sessions and relates well to Josh. As a result, Josh has helped our son accelerate his subject results which have improved significantly. The sessions are flexible in what they cover and Josh was able to adjust the focus to directly address areas needing improvement. Overall, our son has become more confident in these subjects. Access to past exams which are not made available by the school, provide a great benefit in preparing for mid and year-end exams.

Josh is polite and pleasant to deal with as well as flexible when changes to session times are needed. Thank you Josh for all your help.
