Jake is the Director and Head Tutor for Biology at Premier Tutors. Since joining Premier Tutors in 2018, Jake is one of the most experienced Biology tutors in our team. Leading the team, Jake draws on his strong success in the field, placing $2^\text{nd}$ in NSW Biology and topping several Biology courses at the University of Melbourne.
Achieving the highest successes across his fields, Jake graduated from Central Coast Grammar school with an ATAR of 99.80, placing $1^\text{st}$ in his candidature for Mathematics Ext. 2, Mathematics Ext. 1, English Advanced, English Ext. 1 and Biology.
Since leaving school, Jake has continued to pursue his passion for the biological sciences; completing an undergraduate degree in neuroscience, and commencing his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2022.

As an experienced and personable tutor, Jake is committed to empowering his students with first-principles understandings of concepts and developing critical thinking skills that enable them to approach even the most challenging questions with insight and confidence.
Guided by his student's short- and long-term goals, Jake balances his warm and friendly approach to tutoring with structured, outcome-focused discussions of concepts - emphasising their relevance to high-yield exam questions and assessment tasks. As the Director and Head Tutor of Biology at the firm, Jake also leads the Biology content development team at Premier Tutors and is exceptionally well versed in the course requirements, particularly for the new syllabus.
Accordingly, in partnership with his students, Jake's personalised yet systematic approach to tutoring fosters a supportive environment in which students can develop a comprehensive understanding of their subject material, realise their academic potential, and importantly, recognise their ability to excel beyond it. This utter commitment and support of his students extends beyond Jake's regular appointment times as well - encouraging students to contact him with questions whenever confusion may strike or clarification is needed throughout the week.
Jake grew up on the NSW Central Coast and attended Central Coast Grammar School (CCGS) from K-12. Throughout his schooling, Jake was passionate about balancing his academic commitments with a range of extracurricular and leadership opportunities, spanning from; debating and public speaking to concert bands, productions and representative level basketball. With a deep commitment to the school and its vibrant community, Jake served as Head Prefect (school captain) in 2018.
After graduating, Jake moved to Melbourne to complete a Bachelor of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne (majoring in neuroscience) before commencing his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2022. Looking forward, Jake hopes to pursue a career specialising in Paediatrics, where he can combine his passion for science with his positive energy and love for connecting with others.
Outside of his studies and tutoring, Jake has been actively involved in college life, living at University College (where he served as President in 2020) whilst enjoying the diverse opportunities and all too many coffees and almond croissants that Melbourne has to offer.
