Emma is energetic, enthusiastic, and positive tutor with an innate love of learning. She strives to create an environment where her students are not only comfortable with the material being learnt, but also engaged, focused, and eager.
Emma has a highly personalised and dynamic method of tutoring, receiving constant feedback from her students to strengthen their weaknesses and inspire a critical, profound understanding of the course content. She adopts different styles of teaching to complement the student's preferred style of learning and ensure that their full academic potential is met. By engaging with the way her students learn, Emma encourages critical thinking and ensures students have the ability to both work collaboratively and think independently. She strives to emphasise her students' strengths so that they can conquer any academic challenge confidently.
Emma grew up in Sydney's Northern Beaches. She both balanced and excelled in a range of extracurricular activities such as debating, surf life saving, netball, music, and leadership during her time at high school.
Upon graduating, Emma decided to combine her love for maths and science with her passion for environmental conservation by initially studying Mathematics and Wildlife Conservation before changing to Biomedical Engineering and Environmental Science. This passion continued to grow as she volunteered at National Parks and nature reserves around the Northern Beaches. Emma plans to pursue a PhD in engineering after completing her undergraduate degree where she hopes to continue working collaboratively with her knowledge in a range of disciplines.
In addition to tutoring, Emma enjoys volunteering at local national parks along with completing regular hikes and trail runs. She loves American literature and also enjoys playing piano. Emma also plays netball weekly.
