Emily is an accomplished tutor committed to guiding her students to achieve their goals and excel beyond their own expectations. In 2024, she graduated as an all-rounder and dux of her school with an ATAR of 99.90, achieving the best result in her area’s history. During her HSC years, Emily balanced her academic workload with her passion for performing arts, granting her unparalleled knowledge of time-management skills alongside effective strategies to excel in all subjects. Ultimately, Emily is passionate about providing a supportive environment for all students to succeed. Prior to joining the tutoring team, Emily was a student at Premier Tutors.

Approach to Tutoring:

Emily offers a unique and highly effective approach to tutoring, enabling her students to achieve their highest academic potential. Drawing upon her past experiences as a tutee, she aims to synthesise an engaging and personalised strategy for each student to maximise their individual success.

Emily desires to motivate her students to develop a skills-based and comprehensive understanding of exam-style questions, offering more than just a rudimentary memorisation-based approach. Indeed, Emily not only provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the syllabus that stays ahead of the curriculum pace, but through regular feedback she guides students to develop highly structured, logical and extensive answers for any question. This methodology enables Emily’s students to stand out from their peers and excel, exemplified by their ability to engage with content in a meaningful and enlightening way.

Biography:

Emily grew up in Port Macquarie, attending St Peter’s Primary School from Kindergarten to Year 6, where she graduated as Dux. Emily then attended Mackillop College for the entirety of high school, graduating as Dux of the school in Year 12 with an ATAR of 99.90. This was the highest ATAR ever to be achieved in the region in history. Throughout her schooling up until the completion of her HSC, Emily participated in many extracurricular activities, including dance (involving productions, eisteddfods and national competitions), music (as a pianist and singer) and drama.

Following graduation, Emily moved to Sydney to complete a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws at the University of Sydney. In the future, she hopes to complete postgraduate Medicine.

Outside of her studies and tutoring, Emily continues her love of performing arts, participating in open classes from esteemed organisations like Sydney Dance Company and Danceworks Sydney.
