Declan is a mathematics and classics specialist at Premier Tutors of truly rare distinction. Having achieved perhaps one of the finest sets of academic results on record in the HSC, Declan uses his wealth of knowledge and meticulous attention to detail to foster the success of each of his students. Declan is committed to inspiring his students with the beauty and complexity of problem-solving. Declan graduated from Barker College as Dux of the school. He achieved a perfect score of 100/100 for Mathematics Extension 1 and 99/100 for Mathematics Extension 2. He placed 1$^\text{st}$ at Barker in 4 subjects and achieved NSW state ranks in 5.
There are very few out there who share both Declan's passion for teaching, as well his very deep understanding of every aspect of the curriculum; the combination of the two being an offering truly unique to him. In addition to being part of the tutoring team, Declan is a senior member of the Mathematics publications team at Premier Tutors. He writes questions and notes for a variety of topics and develops new writers across a number of different teams.

Declan has been tutoring professionally since he graduated from Barker College. He is dedicated to fostering the academic potential of his students. He teaches with the philosophy of providing students with demanding yet beautiful questions that strengthen his students' appreciation of their fields of study. Declan supports his students by exposing them to a broad range of different question types and providing regular feedback and personalised learning goals to optimise their potential. By building up the confidence of his students, Declan aims to imbue them with a passion for learning and a commitment to success.
Declan grew up in Australia after spending four years of his early life in France. He attended Gordon West Public School from Year 1 to Year 6 and finished as Dux of the school. Declan then studied at Barker College from Year 7 and graduated as Dux of the school. Declan has always pursued all possible avenues for his interests, which induced him to learn Ancient Greek and Sanskrit during high school, at the same time as leading his peers in the school robotics team and maintaining an excellent academic standard. He continues to follow his interests beyond high school and is currently studying Mathematics and Ancient Greek at the University of Sydney.
When he is not tutoring, Declan spends his time moving through the literary canon (he is currently in the middle of reading The Brothers Karamazov). He always enjoys learning new things and is trying to pick up another language or two on the side: he has set his sights on French and Middle Egyptian.
