Ananya is a high-achieving and versatile tutor who is passionate about helping students build confidence and understanding across a range of subjects. She graduated with a perfect IB score of 45, completing four Higher Level subjects and demonstrating excellence across both STEM and the humanities. This breadth allows her to tutor Mathematics and Physics alongside Literature and other essay-based subjects, tailoring her approach to each student’s strengths and goals.
Having balanced the demands of the IB diploma programme herself, Ananya understands the rigour of senior school and the importance of effective study strategies. She is also well placed to support students navigating the overseas university application process, as she is familiar with the CommonApp pathway and has personally prepared for entrance examinations such as the SAT and ESAT.

Ananya believes that effective tutoring is grounded in genuine understanding rather than rote memorisation. She adopts a problem-solving approach, particularly in STEM subjects, where consistent practice and exposure to varied question types are essential for mastering both content and application. Instead of focusing on memorising methods, she helps students develop a deep understanding of underlying principles so they can approach unfamiliar or complex problems with confidence.
Ananya identifies each student’s strengths and existing skill set, then works systematically to strengthen areas for improvement through clear conceptual revision and targeted practice. Her tutoring style involves breaking down challenging ideas into structured, manageable steps, ensuring students fully understand the reasoning behind each solution and can apply concepts flexibly.
Above all, Ananya aims to build independent, resilient learners who feel confident engaging with difficult material. She adapts each lesson to suit the individual student’s needs, thus ensuring both academic excellence and long-term confidence.
Ananya grew up in Delhi before moving to Sydney in Year 9 to attend Queenwood School for Girls. She has been passionate about STEM from an early age, serving as Advanced Technologies and Engineering Captain at school and participating in a range of STEM-related cocurricular activities. She has gained hands-on research experience by completing the CREST Gold Award in year 12, and interning at the biomedical engineering laboratory at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Ananya plans to study Mechanical Engineering at university, with a focus on materials science and sustainable technological solutions.
Alongside engineering, Ananya has pursued a wide range of extracurriculars, from piano and singing to taekwondo and karate, and has volunteered extensively to support equal access to education for girls in India. While she enjoys problem-solving and mathematical reasoning, she is also an avid reader and has a deep appreciation for literature, particularly the Classics and poetry.
