Elizabeth is a highly experienced specialist IB tutor in her fourth year working at Premier Tutors. Scoring a perfect 45/45 for the IB, Elizabeth achieved the top score at her high school, where she was also school prefect and hockey captain. She is a dedicated tutor with excellent attention to detail and communication skills that allow her students to excel in a range of subjects. Elizabeth specialises in English and Italian to all ages. She is very personable and hardworking with a flexible and supportive approach, keeping her students engaged and highly motivated for further study.

Approach to Tutoring:

Elizabeth is passionate about achieving academic excellence through an open and engaging environment with lessons that are tailored to the individual needs of her students. By identifying her student’s strengths and weaknesses, Elizabeth is able to put strategies in place that will solidify and advance her student’s talented areas while working with her student in developing areas to gain both confidence and proficiency.

Elizabeth is prepared for every lesson, ensuring that all core concepts are understood to an exceptional standard. She progresses to excel her students beyond these foundations while also preparing them thoroughly for upcoming assessments and exams. Elizabeth focuses on ensuring that her students are able to think critically and apply their knowledge to any type of exam question.

Biography:

Elizabeth attended MLC Burwood from Kindergarten to Year 12 with consistent involvement in a range of extracurricular activities including debating, gymnastics, touch football and orchestra. She was an accelerated maths student since primary school and completed the HSC Mathematics Advanced and Extension 1 courses by Year 10, before switching to the IB for Years 11 and 12. Elizabeth also loved studying English and different languages at school and undertook an exchange to Italy to immerse herself into the culture and perfect her proficiency in the language.

Elizabeth is combining her passion for languages with her interest in law at the University of Sydney by majoring in both Italian and German. She has also completed English-based units with exceptional results, studying a range of works from revered writers such as George Orwell and Simone de Beauvoir.

When Elizabeth is not tutoring or studying for her University course, she is competing for the University of Sydney’s 1st Grade Women’s hockey team as part of the Elite Athlete Program (EAP) or undertaking artistic endeavours such as ballet, various clarinet ensembles or performing in musical productions. She also enjoys reading, catching up with friends, volunteering at the Newtown Mission and travelling around the world.
